There are two types of people. Those who see someone drinking a spoonful of olive oil and think: “What a weirdo.” And those who have been doing it for years and can’t imagine a morning without a spoon of this green elixir. The question is: is there actually something to it?
The answer is yes—this is not esoteric wellness talk, but a topic widely studied in nutritional science. Extra virgin olive oil is one of the most researched foods in the world, and evidence suggests that regular consumption can support multiple aspects of health, provided the oil is of high quality.
